I've just read 1/4 of the Hope's boy and I'm loving it.
Sometimes I just love the feeling of staying at home.
Helping out mum doing the house chores.
Could be tiring sometimes especially during fasting.
Perhaps it is just another challenge.
I'm aware that I and most of the kids in Singapore
are extremely lucky to be here.
We have almost everything we need.
There are people from other parts of the world that in need of help.
Starving and living in a very small space are part and parcel of their life.
How dejected that can be.
They fought for life almost every day.
Children running around without any direction,
some without knowing who are their parents breaks my heart.
They sell cans and newspapers at the very young age just to get food.
There are even some girls who happened to sell their bodies just to lead a better life.
Stealing, cheating just to get rid of the destitution they suffered.
Life is not easy for them.
We can accused them for every sin they make
but there are reasons to why they go with that life.
Inevitably, they have to endure the pain
both physically and mentally every single day of they lives.
Smiles, laughter, joy are words that rarely appear within their context.
However, I believe these kids are stronger that they seems.
They are determined and strong-willed to fight for life.
The challenges they encountered are countless yet
they are able to open up their eyes to another day.
I'm conscious about how grateful life is for me
even though I do take things for granted sometimes.
God has place me in a wonderful, warmth and loving family and situation.
Alhamdulilah.
This gives me the reason not to give up whenever I fall.
Because no matter how much I suffered,
it is nothing compared to what they had gone through.
May god bless them.
May god inoculated me and my loves one from danger
and throw us with a lot of happiness.
